My little grandson, Aaron, really enjoyed his "snow day" with his mom the other day! The first snowman that he actually helped with from start to finish was an exercise in imagination.
I have written about Adrienne Neff many times in the past. She is the talent behind most of our wonderful creative props/crafts/works-of-art you see while shopping at Behnke’s. Working with Susan O’Hara in our graphics department, the two of them make Behnke’s shine.
However, what you might not know is that, a few years ago, Adrienne took on the task of designing and sending out our beautiful post cards (mailed to active Behnke’s Garden Club members), and writing the scripts for our radio ads. A few weeks ago while going over our 2015 advertising schedule, Adrienne once again stepped up when it was mentioned that we really would like to have a “voice” on the radio that was not the same one you might hear for other businesses. We asked her if she would be interested in not just writing the scripts but also being the VOICE of Behnke’s! She said YES!
I went with her to the radio station in Rockville and watched her bring her words to life. With the help of the director, Adrienne recorded 5 weeks of commercials. I hope everyone gets a chance to hear her in these weeks leading up to Christmas. We advertise on WBIG (100.3) and WMZQ (98.7). I also want you to know that she is writing from her heart. What she says about her memories of her parents shopping at Behnke’s is totally true. Growing up in nearby Laurel, MD, she really did experience her dad surprising her mother with beautiful poinsettias. I hope you enjoy her ads as much as we enjoy watching her create them.
