Adopt A Kitten

Founded in 1914, The Washington Animal Rescue League is the oldest animal shelter in the metropolitan area. A $4 million renovation, painstakingly designed from the animals’ point of view, has made it one of the most humane animal shelters in the world. Every detail of the dog dens, cat condos, and puppy pads was designed to promote healing and maximally enhance the animals’ physical and emotional wellbeing as they recover from past traumas and await adoption. Since 1996, the League has also operated a full-service, low-cost Medical Center for the companion animals of low-income area residents. The League has many kittens, cats, dogs and puppies available for adoption. You can visit them at 71 Oglethorpe Street, NW, Washington, DC. For more information, visit www.warl.org.
