Behnke Nurseries History
 In 1930 Albert and Rose Behnke saw their dream become reality when they opened Behnke Nurseries in Beltsville, Maryland. Albert, who had trained at his father's prominent nursery in Germany, took care of the plants, and Rose took care of the money, marketing and advertising with Albert's input.
Over the years, the nursery and its reputation for honesty and true value, have steadily grown. Behnke Nurseries today reflects the same old-fashioned principles set by our founders: We offer the widest practical selection of top quality plants, with knowledgeable staff to assist in plant choices and educate in plant care.
