What Is Behnke BaySafe?
 Behnke BaySafe® Plants are native plants. They are signed with a distinctive blue logo. To qualify, a plant must be native to Maryland or be a cultivar (a horticultural variety) of a native plant. Native plants are critical for the environment. Many serve as food sources for native insects, which in turn are food sources for birds and other animals. In addition, since native plants are welladapted to our local climate and native soil, they will require less care than many non-natives.

Site Consultation: The First Step
For a fee, a member of the Behnke’s Design & Landscape Team will meet with you at your property. The designer will do a quick assessment of the site conditions, and together you will discuss your landscaping goals. The designer may provide a rough sketch (not to scale) with plant suggestions or written recommendations. The site consultation is used to develop realistic solutions for your landscape. Custom Designs: Putting Your Vision on Paper
The site consultation may be followed by a formal landscape design which is based on your house location survey. The formal design is drawn to scale and personalized for you. A formal design is much more detailed than a rough sketch and is priced based on the size and scope of the design project.
Installation: Bringing Your Dream to Life
Behnke Design & Landscape offers a full range of installation services. Along with your planting areas we will install most hardscape features such as walks, patios, walls, pergolas, fencing, and outdoor lighting. We are a licensed contractor and fully insured. We use the highest quality plants and materials. All work is supervised by an experienced foreman and performed by our highly skilled installation crews.
